Iron is the raw material for making steel, about 98% of iron ore is used to make steel, While the other uses for iron ore and iron are only a very small amount of the consumption. In nature, two major minerals in the production of iron are it's oxides, hematite and magnetite. These are found in preCambrian iron formations. Historically there was also production from goethite and siderite. The iron sulfides (pyrite and pyrrhotite) were not used as iron sources due to the difficulty of removing sulfur from the metals and the brittleness this sulfur caused in the metal. Major producers of iron ore include Australia, Brazil, China, Russia, and India.
Powdered iron: used in metallurgy products, magnets, high-frequency cores, auto parts, catalyst. Radioactive iron (iron 59): in medicine, tracer element in biochemical and metallurgical research. Iron blue: in paints, printing inks, plastics, cosmetics (eye shadow), artist colors, laundry blue, paper dyeing, fertilizer ingredient, baked enamel finishes for autos and appliances, industrial finishes. Black iron oxide: as pigment, in polishing compounds, metallurgy, medicine, magnetic inks, in ferrites for electronics industry.
So we first crush the iron ore using iron ore crusher. There are several type of iron ore crusher, such as jaw crusher, cone crusher, impact crusher etc. There crushers can compose a complete iron ore crushing plant. We can choose different iron ore crusher, then the capacity of the complete crusing plant is different.
Iron ore crushing process:
Firstly: iron ore enter into jaw crusher for primary crushing, then into the impact crusher for secondary crushing, the final crusher is cone crusher. The small iron ores after crushing can be screened out through screening machine, the unsuitable iron ore return to the iron ore crushing plant for crushing again.
